Type(s) of animal(s) and violence
Horses injured in battle; rabbit killed and eaten.
Level of Violence
Low; either expected (horses in battle) or off-screen (rabbit killed). The dead rabbit is shown clearly on-screen on a spit roasting over a fire after being killed.
Is the Violence Integral to the Plot and/or Character Development?
Yes; it is appropriate to the theme and time.
When Violence Occurs in the Movie
Throughout.
Level of Potential Upset to Viewers
Should not be high except to very sensitive viewers.
Other
This is an excellent film, and one of my
personal all-time favorites. All of the violence is appropriate to
a time when people hunted for meat and fought battles on horseback, and
none of it is gratuitious or overdone.
