Type(s) of animal(s) and violence
Deer shot. Also potentially upsetting forest fire scenes.
Level of Violence
Low; off-screen. However, see below.
Is the Violence Integral to the Plot and/or Character Development?
Yes.
When Violence Occurs in the Movie
Unknown.
Level of Potential Upset to Viewers
Very high for children. Many of us
who saw this movie as children were extremely upset by Bambi's mother being
shot by hunters, and by the fright of the forest fire scene as well, and
have never quite forgotten it. It is a family movie, but if you have
a particularly sensitive child, you may want to skip this one, or wait
until the child is a little older.
